Does Laser Eye Surgery Hurt?

Laser eye surgery lets a person avoid the fate of wearing glasses. While glasses are not the style faux pas they were at one time, they are still inconvenient. A person who has a habit of losing eyeglasses may decide that he wants to lose the glasses forever. Someone who wears glasses may find that he wants to lose them. He may have even considered laser eye surgery. He may wonder, as does anyone who considers any type of surgery, if the procedure hurts.

Laser eye surgery is best described as relatively painless. However, the phase relatively painless doe not state that the user will not experience some discomfort after the surgery. The purpose of laser surgery is to reshape the surface of the eye to correct near sightedness or far sightedness. While it is an outpatient procedure, there will be a small amount of pain after the technicians finish the procedure.

The pain experienced by a person who takes laser eye surgery is similar to the pain experienced by someone who goes through the laser hair removal procedure. People have described it as the equivalent of being stung by a rubber band. Getting sting by a rubber band is an unpleasant experience, but most people will easily tolerate the pain.

A person who goes through laser eye surgery needs to remember to use eye protection for several days. Sunglasses and hats are a must. He should also avoid the sun. Doctors recommend patients avoid the sun, especially between the hours of 10 a.m and 2 p.m. to help avoid complications of the surgery. Once the recovery period is over he will find that the extremely small amount of pain is much less to worry about than the constant problems caused by wearing glasses or contacts.

Basically, the answer is that laser eye surgery does hurt. The small amount of pain experienced during the surgery should not dissuade anyone from considering the procedure. The price of the procedure has come down considerably since the introduction of the technology. If a person still wants to wear glasses after going through surgery, fake fashion glasses are available.

I read on this website (listed above) that it is virtually painless. I was thinking about getting this surgery done later, when I turn to an appropriate age I think would suit me best. Can anyone tell me from personal expirience? And be honest, its okay if you tell me it hurt a little or a lot. And if so on a scale 1-10 on how bad it hurt? 0 being not at all. My e mail is listed above. Thank you.
